Red Deer records first death from COVID-19
Red Deer has recorded its first COVID-19 death.
Friday’s update from the province shows that the death of a woman in her nineties on Dec. 16 is linked to the COVID-19 outbreak at the Points Living West seniors’ facility in Red Deer that was declared on Dec. 2.
It’s one of 25 new deaths related to COVID-19 in Alberta reported over the past 24 hours. That brings the province’s total to 815.
Alberta reported a total of 1,413 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. That’s out of 19,538 tests for a positivity rate of 7.4 per cent.
