Drayton Valley RCMP Report: November 26 – December 2

November 26

12:55 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported to Rocky Mountain House RCMP that he hit a deer on Hwy 22 near Drayton Valley.

1:31 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported three different mailboxes broken into. Under investigation.

3:16 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621/RR 82 – Two complaints received of a suspicious vehicle in the area. Member attended, determined vehicle was in the area for a legitimate reason.

6:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a homeless male sleeping in a business parking lot under a tarp. Member attended and located the male who was fine. Male advised he could go to the Mat program for appropriate shelter.

7:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported apartment door broken, keypad damaged. Member attended, backpack belonging to a suspect male located inside. Under investigation.

7:37 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621/RR 82 – Complainant from earlier called again about a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle-related to files at 3:16 pm and not suspicious. Member called complainant who became belligerent, swearing at member. The call was ended.

8:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant reported that he could hear vehicles stunting at location. Member patrolled the area, lots of vehicles present but none were seen stunting.

8:37 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reported his son and another male on a lease road near his property. Member attended, complainant upset because they were burning wood with nails in his field.

10:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court – Member on patrol located a stolen plate on a parked vehicle. Plate seized, vehicle not stolen but registered to a deceased female. Under investigation.

11:44 pm – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/50 St S – Complainant reported hitting a deer. Member attended, deer not located. Vehicle damaged but driveable.

November 27

5:32 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett Rd – Complainant reported his 1990 Ford pickup stolen from his driveway. Under investigation.

8:35 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/47 St – Complainant reported observing a male urinate on a hay bale in a church parking lot. Members attended the area with a detailed suspect description but apparently, the male just had to go as he was no longer in the area.

9:50 am – Drayton Valley – 911 abandoned call, nothing heard or said. Ongoing issue at hospital. Member contacted hospital, no emergency.

11: 33 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant advised they were traveling west on Hwy 22 when a deer collided with their truck.

3:55 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a break, enter, and theft from lease site. Gate broken open, doors to buildings broken open and electrical wire and copper wire torn out.

4:19 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. 2 vehicles sitting in various driveways. A 2015 green Toyota Corolla and a black Nissan SUV. Member called the Registered owner who advised they were there with a security company working in town.

7:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 38 Avenue – Complainant reporting they are getting texts and calls from scammers asking for their bank card number. Member advised complainant to change password.

7:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Members responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle and small trailer as the occupants had been hanging around a business. Vehicle located at a gas station. Nothing suspicious found but the driver was arrested as he had warrants out of several locations. Male held for a bail hearing.

8:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 61 St – Complainant reported an unknown person had started a fire with cardboard boxes behind a business location.

8:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St/20 Ave – Complainant reported an erratic driver and provided a description of a truck/trailer. Members located the vehicle. Investigation resulted in the male being issued a driving suspension and the truck and trailer were impounded.

9:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Members responded to a hangup 911 call. Investigation determined that the caller’s boyfriend had made suicidal comments but she had hung up after learning he had not been serious. Members spoke to the boyfriend who was fine and drinking orange juice.

9:36 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Employee of a store reported an assault that had occurred earlier in the day; two younger males had argued with an older male, the older male told complainant one of the males had spit on him. Under investigation.

November 28

2:05 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Fraud investigation opened; female tried to purchase items on a card which had been placed on a hold.

6:44 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Police and EMS were called to a report that a 64-year-old male was stabbed at an apartment. Police attended and contained the scene for a forensic examination and interviewed witnesses. EMS transported the victim who sustained serious injuries. Crystal Erickson of Drayton Valley has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and was remanded into custody by the Justice of the Peace for court on December 1, 2020, in Drayton Valley.

7:12 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Call of suspicious people at a trailer. Police attended, they were moving items into the trailer for the tenant.

7:44 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Report of a male on the street yelling and stole the town garbage can. Police attended and patrolled the area, the male was not located.

8:08 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Domestic elk killed overnight by an apparent gunshot on private property. Police and Fish & Wildlife attended, tracks located in the area but no casings found.

2:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Welfare concern of a male laying on the sidewalk. Members attended, local homeless person located, he appeared fine and went on his way.

2:42 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Report of possible trespassing. Police spoke with involved parties, another resident of the property had given permission to be on the land.

4:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious males in the post office. One male had a bike and several duffle bags inside the lobby. Another male was there getting something out of the bags. Member attended, males had left prior to arrival.

5:17 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Abandoned vehicle on a range just off the highway. Police attended, vehicle not stolen, but no plate on the vehicle. The vehicle was towed as it was obstructing a stop sign.

8:40 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant called and advised of a car in the ditch. Member attended and located a silver Dodge Challenger. Roadside breath test given, fail reading. Vehicle towed and seized for 3 days and 24-hour licence suspension.

8:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Unwanted person in a store. Female with black toque, black jacket, white and black purse. Police attended, the person had already left prior to police arrival.

11:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Unwanted person in the bathroom of a business refusing to leave. Police attended and located an intoxicated female who was arrested and held in custody until sober.

November 29

1:17 am – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Disturbance in the parking lot of a business. 1 male wearing a black hoodie and black hat is outside with another male in a grey hoodie and a third male in a turquoise hoodie. Police attended. People were stopping a friend from driving while impaired, no offence committed.

3:17 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Call from an oil field security company of a break-in to a lease site. Police attended, suspects were already gone and had stolen a red CanAm ATV.

9:20 am – Drayton Valley – 42 Avenue – Complainant reporting a stolen phone. Complainant advised ex has phone. Members attended residence of ex, however, no phone located.

9:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an intoxicated driver in a white Nissan with a child. Female driver and two male occupants. Member attended location, vehicle not located. Neighbouring detachments notified to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

9:42 am – Parkland County – Moon Lake – Complainant was on the side of the road and discovered abandoned firearms in the ditch. Member attended and seized firearms.

3:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to an old housing complex. Board taken off and window broken. Suspect is a male wearing a grey sweatshirt, backpack, blonde hair.

3:50 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Van with a male driver has been there since this morning. Member attended, suspicious vehicle belongs to a security company doing work in the area.

6:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a vehicle hit a power pole behind the post office. Black Dodge. Vehicle slid into the pole.

10:53 pm – Cynthia – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. 4-door Chrysler on an oilfield lease road. Vehicle took off. Members attended and patrolled the area with negative results.

November 30

1:06 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant calling requesting members attend to remove unwanted male. Members attended, female is aggravating party. Female asked to leave and members gave a courtesy ride to friends.

5:06 am – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Trailer Court – Complainant reporting an unwanted person. Ex is knocking on their door and opened one of the windows. Members attended.

9:00 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for talking on the cell phone while driving.

11:17 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant called to report an injured deer in the ditch. Member attended and Fish and Wildlife officers were on scene.

12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called to report their backpack was stolen. Backpack contained their wallet, ID, and cellphone. Complainant had been walking their dog and stopped. Backpack had been left on a bench.

1:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a known male is stealing a garbage can. He is pushing it around. Members attended area and eventually located known male at a local hang out. Male spoken to and advised that the garbage can belonged to another known individual. No theft.

2:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant advised that they put their phone down in Wal Mart for a moment and it was stolen. Phone was returned as it was turned in.

2:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 open line with young child on the phone. Child not in distress. Child had been playing with their phone.

2:55 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant called to report they were out hunting and got lost. Member was able to figure out their location by instructing them on how to use their cell phone to get their coordinates. Member was then able to plot the coordinates on a map to determine their exact location. Member was able to attend and picked up complainant and took them to their truck.

4:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant calling to report a black dirt bike with a male driver wearing a brown and beige plaid jacket and jeans was doing wheelies and running red lights, also driving on the sidewalk. Member attended location and located dirt bike and driver and attempted a traffic stop. Male took off on member.

5:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they were driving when a deer came out of the ditch and hit their vehicle. The deer ran off.

7:46 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A blue Ford Escape with a rear hitch rack has been in the area lately. When approached the vehicle took off. Two males were in the vehicle. Members patrolled the area. Vehicle not located.

December 1

7:23 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant called 911 to have a member attend and turn off their TV.

8:18 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a COVID isolation breach ongoing for the past 5 days. Female left the residence 5 days ago after testing positive for COVID-19. Female is not isolating as per AHS. Female was located by members walking around the downtown area with a known male. Female was issued a $1200 violation ticket and advised to isolate. Male advised he was to isolate for the next 14 days. Close contacts are being attempted to be notified. AHS has been notified.

9:48 am – Brazeau County – Complainant advised they were driving west on Twp Rd 495 when 2 deer came out of the ditch and collided with the front of their truck.

11:54 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant advised there is a suspicious male lying in the middle of the street behind TOPS. Members attended and located known male who was clearly intoxicated by drugs. Male arrested for public intoxication and taken to the detachment. Male released when sober.

1:10 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle on a lease site. Vehicle is a black GMC 2500 Diesel. No one seen in or around. Members attended, vehicle not reported stolen.

1:41 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a vehicle fire. Member attended with fire department. Fire had been put out prior to arrival.

3:48 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Dark grey F-150 with tinted windows. The vehicle was observed earlier by the mailboxes. Vehicle has been seen in the area all day. Member attended and patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

4:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on foot patrol observed a suspicious vehicle. When the member approached, they recognized the driver and passenger. The vehicle took off, running a stop sign, and was located later on abandoned. Vehicle towed as plate registered to another vehicle, no insurance and the vehicle had a punched ignition indicating it may have been stolen prior.

7:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 43A Street – Complainant reporting a known person just showed up and threatened them. The suspect is from the son’s school and was threatening to assault them. Suspect was wearing a 2 tone white/green jacket and dark pants.

7:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Known male is outside yelling at people and looking in vehicles. Male is wearing all black and carrying a paper bag. Member attended location and located known male who was arrested for public intoxication. To be released when sober.

8:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Member was in the area for an unrelated matter when they observed a truck doing doughnuts in the middle of the intersection. A traffic stop was conducted and a roadside screening device was administered. Fail reading obtained. As driver was a GDL driver (new), a suspension was issued, vehicle towed for 7 days, and licence seized.

8:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting male is smoking in the building. Male is in a black hoodie, black pants, boots, and carrying a bag, and is sitting in the post office and smoking cigarettes. Member attended, male had left area and was not located.

11:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male who is renting a portion of the same residence keeps on unplugging the washing machine. Members advised that they could not remove male as they are also living in the same residence.

December 2

12:16 AM – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Complainant reporting a male is trying to flag down eastbound vehicles. Members located individual who advised their vehicle broke down. Boost provided.

1:05 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting a dispute going on downstairs. Several people are there. Members attended and it was apparent that a physical confrontation had taken place. One male with head and facial injuries. Victim was not cooperative and neither were witnesses. Matter is still under investigation.

1:58 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting a theft of bottles. Suspect left on foot towards 50 Street. Members patrolled the area, however person not located.

10:24 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting dispute. Male heard yelling and loud sounds. Complainant kicked male out of building. Members attended, male not observed, female advised it was only a verbal argument.

11:30 – Drayton Valley – Request to assist Evansburg detachment in locating female who was victim of domestic dispute on Monday. Female had been forced into vehicle which then fled from police. Members attended residence, female located, male suspect arrested.

11:45 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male with a sword wearing a black hoodie and grey sweatpants. Member attended and located male who had just bought the sword from local second-hand store.

3:33 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting neighbours horses are on their property.

4:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant advising wanted male is in building. Member attended, male arrested on outstanding warrants and held for a bail hearing.

7:02 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a silver Ford truck. Vehicle is swerving into oncoming traffic. Patrols were made, vehicle not located.

8:19 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting intoxicated male left in an older Ford truck. Members patrolled the area with negative results.

9:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant calling to report intoxicated patrons left in a white Ford truck. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
