Brazeau County has passed its interim 2021 Budget.

On November 26, Brazeau County Council passed an interim budget and are maintaining service levels with no projected tax increase.

In keeping with the customer-first and economic development focus philosophies adopted by Council, the interim budget has no tax increase and a commitment to zero or minimal fees for permits and services.

Council reduced municipal taxes by 30 percent in 2015 and has maintained that lower rate ever since.

Council passes an interim budget in order to proceed on approved operational and capital projects in the period between now and when the County receives final property assessment information and approval of a final budget in April.

“As in previous years, even before a recommendation to do so from the Minister of Municipal Affairs, we are focusing on critical infrastructure and maintenance, while investing smartly in roads that will benefit ratepayers and economic development,” says Reeve Bart Guyon.
