Red Deer with 170 active COVID-19 cases

Alberta announced another 1,731 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

That’s out of 21,657 tests completed over the past 24 hours for a positivity rate of eight per cent.

There are now 14,931 active cases in the province, an increase of 714. The number of recoveries sits at 39,381, an increase of 1,012.

415 people are in hospital, an increase of 10, including 88 in intensive care, an increase of two.

Another five deaths from COVID-19 were reported to bring Alberta’s total to 524.

Red Deer has 170 active cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday, an increase of 15. There have now been 331 recovered cases, an increase of 11, as the total number of cases attributed to the city rose by 26 to 501.

Red Deer County has 54 active cases as of Saturday, an decrease of one, while Sylvan Lake added one to sit with 44.

Lacombe County has 35 active cases, a decrease of one, while Lacombe has 22, an increase of one.

Clearwater County (Rocky Mtn. House) added five more active cases for a total of 21.

Ponoka County added 15 active cases to sit with 233.

Mountain View County has 15 active cases, an increase of two, Olds added one for a total of 18, and Kneehill County added one for a total of 15. Starland County and the County of Stettler have four active cases.

There are now 992 active cases in the Central zone with 26 hospitalizations, including five in intensive care.
