Red Deer remains with 141 active COVID-19 cases

Alberta reported another 1,115 cases on Tuesday.

That’s out of 13,500 test results for a positivity rate of over eight per cent.

Active cases in the province are up by 183 to 13,349.

Recoveries are up 916 to 35,695.

Another 16 deaths were reported Tuesday bring Alberta’s total from COVID-19 to 492.

There are now 348 people in hospital in Alberta because of the virus, an increase of 20, which includes 66 in intensive care, an increase of four.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Red Deer held steady on Tuesday at 141.

There have been 284 recovered cases, an increase of 12 over Monday, as the total number of cases attributed to the city rose by 12 to 425.

Red Deer County has 49 active cases, an increase office, while Sylvan Lake now has 29, also an increase of five.

Lacombe County added one active case for a total of 29, while Lacombe held steady with 17.

Clearwater County (Rocky Mountain House) added two more active cases to sit with 13.

Ponoka County added eight more active cases on Tuesday for a total of 220.

There are 12 active cases in Mountain View County. Olds and Kneehill County each have 14 active cases. Starland County and the County of Stettler each have three.

The Central zone as a whole now has 830 active cases of COVID-19 and 18 hospitalizations, including three in intensive care. The zone has added two more deaths for a total of 14.

The list of outbreaks in the Central zone has grown to include the Revera Aspen Ridge supportive living facility in Red Deer. Outbreaks remain in effect at the Avenue Living Communities office, Olymel and Pure Fitness in Red Deer, and in relation to a private gathering in Ponoka.
