Employee at downtown McDonald’s tests positive for COVID-19
A positive COVID-19 test for a McDonald’s employee in Red Deer has forced the temporary closure of the restaurant chain’s downtown location.
Company officials say in a release that the employee at the 4848 52 Avenue location tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
The employee is said to have worked their last shift on Thursday (Nov. 19) from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party,” McDonald’s Canada says in a release. “We are working to ensure we reopen safely, as we know our guests depend on their local McDonald’s and we are committed to doing our part to help our communities.”
