Donation drive tomorrow in Red Deer

Red Deer Against Racism, in conjunction with the Alberta Humanitarian Initiative, is hosting a community donation drive tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 21) from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 103, 5002 55 Street.

Collected items will be given to vulnerable people and families in central Alberta.

“We have been collecting since the end of September and already have an abundance of items. But whatever is left over will be going to shelters in our community,” says organizer Cheryl Jamie.

“We like to hand out items directly to the houseless as they appreciate the engagement and they are just like people as the rest of us are and deserve to be treated as such. It is important to take care of our neighbors in such strange times and especially since the winter has arrived.”
