Spike belt helps nab Red Deer woman driving dangerously through B.C.
REVELSTOKE, B.C. — An early morning spike belt deployment helped put an end to a run from police near Revelstoke, B.C. on Monday.
According to an RCMP news release, a member of the public phoned Chase RCMP just after midnight Monday morning, complaining about a newer model white Ford F350 pickup driving erratically.
About 25 minutes later, a Salmon Arm RCMP officer tried to pull the truck over but it didn’t stop and sped off eastbound on the Trans Canada Highway.
At about 1:30 a.m., Revelstoke Mounties tried to pull over the truck, this time using a spike belt. The belt deflated one of the trucks tires and it came to a stop.
