Edmonton couple charged for allegedly trafficking women, minors for sex

An Edmonton couple face a number of charges after allegedly procuring women and minors for sex.

Police say Anita Pickering, who is 55, and 51-year-old Ross Pickering were arrested on November 3.

Charges against the two include trafficking in a person, procuring and obtaining material benefit from trafficking a person.

Police are encouraging other victims to come forward. Anyone with information about this investigation, or any human trafficking offence is encouraged to contact local police or Crime Stoppers.

“We are committed to listening. Your information could help prevent someone else from being exploited,” said Staff Sgt. Lance Parker, ALERT Human Trafficking unit.
