Drayton Valley RCMP Report: October 22 – October 29

October 22

8:33 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle on a lease site. Vehicle is a white GMC Terrain. Hood is popped open. Member attended, plate did not match the vehicle. Vehicle not reported stolen. Vehicle towed and Registered owner advised. Vehicle had no insurance or registration.

8:34 am – Drayton Valley – 39 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Ford pickup with a toolbox sitting beside the vehicle. Member attended and while at the vehicle, the owner showed up and advised they were working there.

9:05 am – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting an attempted theft of vehicle. Pry marks on driver side door of white 2010 Ford F-250. Entry not gained.

10:47 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle on a lease site. Vehicle is a grey Subaru. Member attended, Registered Owner notified and advised they were doing winter camping.

12:02 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant attended the detachment to report a breach of a court order. Ex breaching conditions. Member spoke with all parties, no breach had occurred.

1:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting the traffic lights out by scotia bank. Member attended, public works notified.

2:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – 911 hangup, ongoing issue as people need to dial 9 to get outside line. Member attended, no emergency.

2:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. White Ford F-150 has a flat tire. Member attended, vehicle identified. Registered owner was inside and waiting for a tire.

3:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting a theft of powerline equipment stolen from their truck.

5:01 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting male was at property to steal some cats. Female there as well. Female there to obtain the rest of their belongings. Both male and female were allowed to leave with the cat.

5:21 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a motor vehicle collision with a deer. No injuries, vehicle not driveable.

October 23

2:56 am – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting 3 persons are on a lease site stealing copper wire. Members attended, tracks followed into bush area, 3 persons arrested.

3:20 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a 911 hangup. On call back, complainant advised that someone had tried to steal a light bar from a black dodge in the parking lot. Member attended, matter is still under investigation.

6:32 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a vehicle collision with a deer. Member attended, no injuries.

8:48 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Commercial alarm at business. Member attended, everything fine, false alarm.

9:38 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting gravel trucks speeding on RR 63. Member made patrols, several gravel trucks matched complainants description. Member conducted several traffic stops. Drivers were advised of complaint and agreed to watch their speeds closer.

10:14 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting online harassment. Two youths have been making fake snapchat accounts in another name. Member attended and met with all parties involved. School assisting in resolution.

10:25 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant advising that a male is driving a truck without a licence. Member conducted queries. Male has valid licence.

1:11 pm – Yellowhead County – Elk River Road – Complainant reporting they were out hunting when someone fired a couple of rounds at him and his dog. Complainant was not hit. Suspect vehicle was a black Chevrolet Truck. Members attended immediately and made patrols. Neighbouring detachments advised.

2:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant advised that they were visiting a person and a known male had been left alone with their purse. When they returned $290 was missing from purse. Member attended and male admitted to taking money.

2:35 pm – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Complainant reporting a single-vehicle collision. Roads were very slippery and they slid through an intersection.

3:06 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a 1000 lb propane bullet was stolen from a lease site.

4:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver arrested on outstanding warrants, vehicle seized for 30 days as driver suspended.

4:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting a black Honda cut them off in an intersection and then flipped them off. Member contacted registered owner of vehicle and provided them with a warning regarding their driving.

6:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued violation tickets for driving while unauthorized and driving an uninsured motor vehicle on the road.

October 24

12:00 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd. – Commercial alarm going off. Member attended, no issues. False alarm.

12:31 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to obey traffic control device.

3:14 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a family dispute. Male has assaulted his brothers. Member attended and located suspect male who was intoxicated and had a wound to eye. Member transported male to hospital. Male was released from hospital and held overnight until they were sober.

10:07 am – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Residential alarm going off. Member attended, confirmed with homeowner that it was false.

11:16 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant calling wanting to know what happened to his vehicle as he had lent it to another. Member advised that the vehicle had been stopped and towed as it was uninsured.

12:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Member attempted a traffic stop with an older green truck. Vehicle took off on them. Vehicle had been stolen from Calmar earlier. Vehicle located, unoccupied.

1:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting male from the fight the previous night was back and was drunk and acting aggressive. Members attended, male had left prior to arrival.

2:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complaint received of a family dispute involving the above male. Brothers are fighting again. Alcohol a factor. Members attended and spoke to family members. One party left the residence.

2:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – 911 open line call, female weeping. Members attended and located female, uninjured. Female admitted they had called as they were fighting with their boyfriend. Verbal argument. Would not provide a statement.

2:50 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting that his ex just took their white 2001 Chevrolet 2500 and ran over the fence. Vehicle is in the middle of the yard. Member attended and located ex who was arrested for mischief. Released on no contact conditions.

3:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver was issued violation tickets for uninsured vehicle and no registration.

3:20 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a hit and run. Grey vehicle had fled. Member located vehicle shortly after with significant damage.

6:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting vandalism. Window broken and items thrown out of the room. Person responsible has left. Member attended, argument was about a dog attack.

6:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting they were shoved in the hallway. Members attended, complainant intoxicated and could not provide a name or description of the person responsible. No one in the vicinity heard any commotion.

7:35 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a black Dodge pickup is sitting on side of road, partially in lane. Member attended and observed the vehicle being moved off the road with emergency flashers on.

7:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting their ex smeared feces on the door. Members attended. Matter is still under investigation.

October 25

10:12 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Commercial alarm triggered by staff entering. Member attended, false alarm.

11:13 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting their red Ford F-150 had been stolen sometime overnight.

11:51 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a black newer model jeep. Pulled out in front of complainant then sped off. Member patrolled the area with negative results.

4:11 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a logging truck. Member made patrols vehicle not located.

5:16 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to report their sea cans broken into.

9:56 pm – Drayton Valley – Carlton East – Fire Department requesting assistance with a vehicle fire. Fire had been put out by a pedestrian. Vehicle had been reported stolen from Bashaw on October 13. Matter is still under investigation.

October 26

4:50 am – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious persons on bicycles dressed in winter gear.

6:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of their 2000 Dodge Diesel dually sometime overnight.

7:25 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting a large tractor tire in the middle of the road. Members patrolled the area, tractor tire not located.

11:08 AM – Brazeau County – Call received advising male is experiencing severe paranoia. Male located in Leduc and arrested under the mental health act and taken to hospital.

1:17 pm – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting their cat was killed by a dog. Member attended.

2:12 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a dangerous driver in a white Chevrolet 4 door pulling a trailer with a Bobcat. Vehicle is headed towards Drayton Valley. Member located vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Driver provided a warning concerning their manner of driving.

15:40 pm – Drayton Valley – CPO of Drayton Valley attended the detachment with a bike and some copper wire he had found behind Eldorado School. CPO advised that a male with blond hair was observed with the items but took off when they arrived.

6:30 pm – Brazeau County – 911 hang up calls received, two males were heard talking in the background. Member called the number back, caller advised that they just had the screen replaced on their phone and it isn’t working properly. No emergency.

11:28 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Family dispute resulting in a physical confrontation between two brothers. Matter still under investigation as one of the males had left prior to arrival.

October 27

7:15 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting several odd phone calls received from known female. Female is suffering from Mental health Issues. Matter is still under investigation.

9:43 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to building. Suspects broke the lock on the alley door and entered the utility room. Nothing taken.

12:50 pm – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Complainant reporting suspicious males parked in a dark blue truck. Members attended and located vehicle. Males were Telus workers and were sent out to collect the empty copper wire tubes left from a theft.

2:24 pm – Drayton Valley – MacKenzie Avenue – Complainant reporting brother ran away from home a week ago. Members located brother at residence in Rocky Rapids. Ran away because doesn’t like the rules at home.

3:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male. Male punched the door and female wants him to leave as he is yelling at her. Members attended, both parties arrested for outstanding warrants.

9:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Commercial alarm. Member attended and located two youth in the area. Youth were spoken to and advised that they had climbed onto the roof.

9:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting they were assaulted. Member attended location, male suspect had left. Male located later and arrested for assault.

11:07 pm – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting they thought they heard a gunshot coming from the Violet Grove hall area. Member attended, no one in area. No further complaints received.

October 28

3:20 am – Brazeau County – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket.

5:14 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle is a white Chevrolet with the back window covered in white paint. Back is full of tools.

10:41 am – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant called to report a male shoplifting. Male identified. Member located male and arrested him. Male had several outstanding warrants as well. Held for a bail hearing.

11:14 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a logging truck in front is swerving all over the road. Member attended location. Traffic stop conducted with truck. Driver advised they had swerved to avoid hitting a deer.

11:43 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for talking on cell phone while driving.

2:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting roommate’s ex had broken into the residence. Male charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house.

4:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reported that a male had pulled a knife out while they were on the phone. No threats or demands made. Members flooded the area, male was not located.

5:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting ongoing harassment. Individual continually sits outside the residence or workplace. Ongoing issue.

7:11 PM – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a dog bite and harassment. Members attended. No injuries, dog located on lead with owner. Dog was not aggressive.

9:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Red SUV driving around slowly, driver appeared to be taking pictures of vehicles. 2 occupants. Member patrolled the area with negative results.

11:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious red vehicle with 2 occupants is parked beside the front door. Vehicle had taken off prior to members arrival. Patrols were negative.

October 29

6:17 AM – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver. Complainant is driving a school bus and someone in a white pickup truck passed them on a hill.
