Rally against government cuts set for Friday at City Hall Park

Oct 22, 2020 | 3:52 PM

A rally is planned for Friday afternoon outside Red Deer City Hall to call attention to government cuts to public sector jobs, health care, education and AISH.

The event is being organized by The Council of Canadians and has been promoted by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE).

“We’re concerned about what is happening with these cuts, in particular cuts to health care, especially during a pandemic,” said Chris D’Lima, Chair of the council’s Red Deer chapter. “We have a number of presenters lined up who will speak to these issues which are of concern to all Albertans.”

The rally is planned for 12-1 p.m. at City Hall Park.
