Red Deer sees more housing starts in September

September was a better month for housing starts in Red Deer, but the year-to-date number remain well behind pace.
The latest numbers from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) show 38 housing starts in our city last month. That’s well up from just 10 housing starts in Red Deer in Sept. 2019.
However, the CMHC numbers also reveal that Red Deer has seen only 128 housing starts through the first nine months of 2020, compared to 206 during the same period last year.
