Red Deer adds two active COVID-19 cases, now has five

Red Deer has five active cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, an increase of two over the past 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the city now sits at 113 as recoveries remain listed at 108.

Red Deer County has an active case of the novel coronavirus for the first time since last week. Sylvan Lake remains with one active case. There are now four active cases in Lacombe and two in Lacombe County. Ponoka County has five active cases while the County of Stettler and Mountain View County each have two. The town of Olds has one, as does Drayton Valley.

The number of active cases in the Central zone is now 30, an increase of four from Tuesday.

Province-wide, there are 143 new cases in Wednesday’s online update.

The total number of COVID-19 cases across the province stands at 19,354. There are 1,910 active cases, up 10 from Tuesday, and 17,163 recovered cases, up 133.

There are currently 66 Albertans in hospital, 13 in ICU. There have been 281 deaths, no increase from Tuesday.

The province conducted 13,610 tests in the past 24 hours.
