Time change for downtown parking meters

New daily hours are coming into effect for parking meters in Red Deer.

Parking fees at downtown meters will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily instead of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CIty officials say all meters will have prepayment options available starting at 5 a.m.

Starting today, parking meters throughout the downtown will be manually reprogrammed to reflect the new hours. This task will take approximately four days to complete, and the City says there will be a one week grace period on parking fines.

Parking stall users are reminded that hours and fees are posted on each meter for easy reference.
