Rocky RCMP Report September 28- October 1

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of September 24-28

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

September 28

1:02 P.M. – B&E reported to an empty house on Range Road 6-0 & Twp Rd 41-1, Clearwater County. A pond filter and a plant were stolen. A grey or silver DODGE pickup was seen in the area.

7:49 P.M. – EMS, Caroline Fire, and police responded to a single vehicle collision at the junction of Hwy #22 # Hwy # 54. The vehicle ended up in the Clearwater River while the driver was closely following the GPS. There were no injuries.

9:37 P.M. – Police were called after a “throw away covid mask” was found on the ground near the RMH tennis courts.

September 29

1:11 A.M. – Report of all the windows of complainant’s mini van smashed while parked at a RMH residence. A loud vehicle was heard driving by a few minutes earlier.

10:10 A.M. – Call of a stolen bicycle seen in a RMH trailer park. Police attended and located a 35 year old male on the bicycle who was subsequently arrested for “Possession of Stolen Property” and breaching previous release conditions. He was subsequently charged and appeared before a Justice of the Peace in a JIR Hearing.

4:45 P.M. – Buildings broken into on a property near Caroline on Range Road 5-2 & Twp Rd 35-5. Solar equipment and other items reported stolen.

8:47 P.M. – Police stopped a vehicle in RMH after it was reported that the occupants were smoking drugs. The driver was given a 24 hr suspension and a violation ticket. Cocaine residue was found spread over the console and upon searching a female passenger, fentanyl was discovered.

September 30

11:59 A.M. – Vehicle stopped on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve after it was determined that the vehicle did not match the licence plate information. The driver had a suspended driver’s licence and he had outstanding arrest warrants. He was released to appear in court on a later date. The vehicle was towed and seized for 30 days.

7:30 P.M. – Wallet reported stolen from a truck while parked at residence in RMH.

10:09 P.M. – 65 inch TV stolen from residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve.

October 1

8:51 A.M. – While conducting patrols on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve, police were advised of an assault in which a firearm was used. 2 victims were located and treated by EMS and transported to the hospital where they are in stable condition. An adult male has been arrested and charges are pending.

11:33 A.M. – Call of possible gun shots heard in RMH. Police attended the location and determined that an individual had set off fireworks in his backyard.

1:24 P.M. – 3 vehicle collision reported at the junction of Highway #22 and Hwy #54. EMS, Fire, and police attended. One of the driver’s was transported to an Edmonton hospital via STARS. The RCMP is currently investigating along with the Red Deer RCMP Collision Analyst.

2:57 P.M. – B&E reported on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Under investigation.

7:06 P.M. – Call of an intoxicated female blocking traffic on Hwy #11 in RMH. Police attended and arrested the individual who was released after sobering up.
