Sentencing will take place next year for a Red Deer man charged with child luring-related offenses.

Wayne David Taylor, 59, plead guilty in Red Deer provincial court on Monday to counts of child luring and making sexually explicit material available to a child. He was initially charged with 10 counts.

Taylor will be sentenced on Jan. 6, 2021.

Court heard on Monday that the offenses occurred between March 1 and May 28 of this year.

It was on May 29, 2020 when Red Deer RCMP, with the assistance of Alert’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, arrested and charged a 59-year-old man after he allegedly attempted to lure multiple children for sexual purposes.

Mounties say the suspect engaged in electronic and in-person communication with three child victims, aged eight, nine, and 10 and described those communications as predatory in nature.

Taylor was released from custody on June 12 after posting $5,000 bail on a promise to pay with conditions.
