Over 800 winter items collected at Charity Checkstop
Despite the COVID crisis, generous Red Deerians stepped up and donated 821 winter items at Saturday’s Charity Checkstop, up 40% over last year, to keep families warm this winter.
In keeping with previous year’s donations, the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre received $12K in support for crime prevention initiatives in Red Deer and Central Alberta.
The Charity Checkstop was on Taylor Drive this past Saturday, October 3, in support of the Coats 4 Kids campaign and the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre.
The coats have been dropped off for cleaning at the sponsoring drycleaners – Classic Cleaners, The Coverall Shop, Sterling Cleaners, Mustang Laundry, Ultra Cleaners and Village Dry Cleaners.
