Red Deer remains with five active COVID-19 cases, Alberta down 38

Red Deer remains with five active cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, and 105 recoveries.

Throughout the region, Red Deer County is reporting three active cases of COVID-19 while Lacombe County has one. Lacombe has two active cases, while both Ponoka County and Mountain View County have four. The town of Olds has one.

The Central zone has now seen 673 cases of COVID-19 so far, with 19 cases currently active and 647 recovered. There are currently no COVID-related hospitalizations in the zone.

Across the province, Alberta is reporting 122 news cases of COVID-19 on Friday, including three more deaths.

This brings the total number of active cases in the province to 1,558 – down 38 from Thursday and the death toll to 272 – up three from the day before.

The number of Albertans in hospital with novel coronavirus is still 64 with now 15 of those in ICU.

Over the past 24 hours, 13,379 tests have been completed, while 16,527 Albertans have recovered from the virus.

The total number of COVID-19 cases identified in the province so far is 18,357.

Elsewhere, Edmonton Zone is reporting 835 active cases of COVID-19, 568 in Calgary Zone, 104 in North Zone, 31 in South Zone, and one additional active case in an unconfirmed location.
