Red Deer adds two active COVID-19 cases

Red Deer has added two active cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, according to the latest numbers from the province, for a total of seven.

The number of recoveries in Red Deer remains listed at 103.

Also as of Tuesday, Red Deer County has three active cases of the novel coronavirus, Mountain View County has eight, Lacombe and Lacombe County each have one, and Ponoka County has five.

As a whole, Alberta reported 160 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the overall total to 17,909.

There are 1,571 active cases in the province, up 22 from Monday, and 16,072 recovered cases, up 137.

There are currently 63 Albertans in hospital, including 13 in ICU. There have been 266 deaths, an increase of one from Monday.

The province conducted 16,187 tests in the past 24 hours.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, is scheduled to deliver her next COVID-19 update on Thursday.
