WATCH: Throne speech to outline government’s plan for COVID-19 going forward

Today’s throne speech is expected to last as long as an hour, unveiling the Trudeau government’s plan to get the country through the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The speech is scheduled to begin shortly after noon Alberta time. You can watch it live below courtesy of CPAC.

With so many people still out of work, the throne speech may include changes to Employment Insurance, and make substantial commitments in other areas, including child care.

And in a rare address to the country this evening, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will urge Canadians to follow COVID-19 restrictions in the face of rising case numbers.
