Lethbridge Hurricanes prospect Dylan Ashe passes away

MELFORT, SK – The hockey community is mourning the loss of Dylan Ashe.

The 18-year-old Melfort Mustangs defenceman passed away this weekend following a single-vehicle collision Saturday night, near Whitefox, Saskatchewan.

Ashe was also a prospect for the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The ‘Canes acknowledged his passing on social media Sunday.

The Mustangs, who compete in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, also made a statement on social media, as did the junior league.

It was a bad weekend on Saskatchewan highways. In addition to the fatal single-vehicle collision involving Ashe, RCMP responded to three other fatal accidents.
