The body of a man who fell into the North Saskatchewan River in Banff National Park earlier this summer has been recovered.

Police say the man’s body was recovered by Rocky Mountain House RCMP and Alberta Conservation officers on a small remote island west of Abraham Lake on Sunday.

RCMP have confirmed the deceased is a 23-year-old man from Calgary who fell into the river along Glacier Lake trail on July 25 and was swept away.

The name of the deceased is not being released.
