Two killed in collision in Drayton Valley crash

Two people are dead following an early morning collision on the southern edge of Drayton Valley.

RCMP say in a release that they responded just after 2:30 a.m. to a serious two-vehicle collision.

Police say a pickup truck travelling southbound on Highway 22 is believed to have veered into the oncoming lane where it collided with a semi truck travelling northbound.

The two adult male occupants of the pickup were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

Traffic on Highway 22 between 50 Avenue and Highway 620 was diverted while collision analysts examined the crash scene.
