Three people are facing several charges following an incident in central Alberta in which a man was kidnapped, beaten and robbed.

RCMP in Ponoka say it was at about 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 7 when they were alerted to said incident.

Investigation revealed that a 22-year-old male victim from Slave Lake had been chatting with a woman online for about a year before agreeing to meet her.

Police say the male got into a vehicle, already determined to be stolen, with the female in Ponoka and was assaulted by two unknown males, one of whom had a gun.

Over a lengthy period of time, police say the male was driven to several banks and forced to provide his banking information in order to withdraw money from his accounts.

The victim had his truck and cell phone stolen before he was eventually dropped off in Blackfalds.

Ponoka RCMP General Investigation Section collaborated with Red Deer and Blackfalds detachments to coordinate intelligence on the incident.

Suspects were identified as Amber Loretta Knickle, 21, Jared Michael Mcleod, 26, and Chasetin Jon Arthur Morin, 25. Knickle is charged with robbery, while Mcleod and Morin are charged with robbery with a firearm (two counts), kidnapping and assault.

On Sept. 16 just before noon, officers located a stolen vehicle in Gasoline Alley. Mcleod and Morin were both in the vehicle and were taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle located an imitation firearm, a loaded shotgun, ammo, methamphetamine, and at least 61 pieces of miscellaneous stolen ID documents. Police say further charges are pending.

At the time of his arrest, Morin was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Red Deer for an earlier incident where he fled from police while driving the victim’s stolen truck. He had been the subject of an investigation police undertook on Sept. 11 in Red Deer’s Clearview neighbourhood.

Knickle remains at large at this time. She is described as:

– Caucasian

– 5’3” tall / 119 lbs.

– Blonde / brown hair and green eyes

– Unknown tattoo on one of her fingers

Amber Knickle, 21, is wanted by Alberta RCMP in connection to a beating, kidnapping and robbery which took place Sept. 7. (RCMP)
