Red Deer down to nine active COVID-19 cases

Alberta is reporting an additional 124 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday to bring the overall total to 15,957.

The province completed 12,985 tests for the virus over the past 24 hours.

Alberta has 1,491 active cases, a decrease of 47.

There are currently 39 Albertans in hospital because of the virus, a decrease of two, including seven who are intensive care.

No new deaths related to the virus are being reported, leaving Alberta’s total at 254.

Active cases in the Central Zone fell by 13 from 49 reported on Monday to 36 on Tuesday, while recoveries are up from 590 to 605. There are no hospitalizations or current COVID-19 outbreaks in the zone.

The numbers are also better in Red Deer where active cases are down to nine (from 16 on Monday) while the number of recoveries has risen to 94.

Sylvan Lake is down to one active case (from six on Monday), Lacombe County is down to four (from eight) and the city of Lacombe no longer has any active cases. Ponoka County is down to two active cases while Sundre now has one. There are no other active cases in the Red Deer area as of Tuesday’s report.
