Innisfail Smile Cookie Campaign supports mentoring programs

Sep 15, 2020 | 9:26 AM

Back again for its 24th year, Tim Hortons Smile Cookie week is supporting charities in communities across the country.

This includes Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer and District in Innisfail – one of 550 Canadian charities, hospitals and community programs supported through the annual campaign.

For one week, from September 14 – 20, restaurant owners are donating the full $1 from every freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie purchased to support charities in their community. Guests can complete a form to place pre-orders for Smile Cookies through their restaurant in Innisfail.

This year, Tim Hortons in Innisfail is supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs. This is the third year the Innisfail restaurant has supported BBBS programming through the Smile Cookie campaign. Funds raised locally support mentors and mentees engaged in community-based and couples matches, in-school mentoring, as well as virtual mentoring programming.

“It’s an incredible opportunity we have to continue our partnership not only with Quinn and his team at Tim Hortons in Innisfail, but also with the community here locally. We’re grateful to be able to showcase our mentoring programs as well as raise funds to support our matches here,” said Rob Lewis, Executive Director, Youth HQ.

“Communities coming together during these difficult times is more important than ever. Our restaurant team members and I are excited to continue working with Big Brothers Big Sisters for the third year to raise as much as possible to support their local programs,” said Quinn Jacobs, Tim Hortons Restaurant Owner, Innisfail. “We encourage all of our guests throughout our annual Smile Cookie week to support their local charities by purchasing a freshly baked Smile Cookie at Tim Hortons for just $1.”

NOTE: In Sylvan Lake, the Smile Cookie Campaign is raising funds for ambulatory care in the community. In Red Deer, the campaign is supporting the Reading College summer education program.
