Dr. Hinshaw shares COVID-19 update for Sept. 10

Sep 10, 2020 | 3:15 PM

Alberta’s chief medical officer of health is set to provide her latest update on COVID-19 in the province.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw will speak during a news conference scheduled for 3:30 p.m. You can watch the news conference below once it begins.

Hinshaw’s latest update comes as Alberta Health Services says it’s working directly with two schools in southern Alberta to limit outbreaks of COVID-19.

AHS says that two or more people attended school while infectious at both Chinook High School in Lethbridge and Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary.

It says officials will identify close contacts of the people who have COVID-19 and AHS will directly contact anyone considered exposed.

Hinshaw said yesterday that 16 COVID-19 infections had been confirmed in 16 different schools — all acquired outside those institutions.
