Aug 27, 2020 | 12:33 PM

RCMP are continuing to investigate the cause of a fire that destroyed a Potter’s Hands apartment building in downtown Red Deer on Monday.

The blaze began just before 3:00 p.m. on Aug. 24 and saw crews from both Red Deer and Sylvan Lake attend.

Officials say roughly 20 residents of the low income apartment building were displaced, with Potter’s Hands now working to find alternative apartment units for each of the former tenants.

The Mustard Seed has also partnered with the City of Red Deer in collecting cash and other donations for victims of the blaze.

Red Deer Mounties indicate they would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the fire at 5129 50 Avenue.

An update into the cause is also anticipated shortly.
