Brazeau County applying for funding to overlay roads in Lodgepole
The hamlet of Lodgepole could finally be getting updated roadways after Brazeau County council agreed at their meeting this week to submit a project application for funding.
Council directed administration to submit the project application and a Memorandum of Agreement under the Municipal Stimulus Program (MSP) for overlaying the roads in Lodgepole in 2021.
Funding contributions for the project would be $923,732 from the MSP and $226,268 from Brazeau County’s Roads Restricted Surplus.
The County says MSP funding is limited to projects that would not go forward in the absence of support through the stimulus program. In order to ensure success in receiving approved MSP funding, the project selected for MSP funding should be one that has never been previously considered or committed to due to budget constraints.
