Town of Penhold announces plans for fall festival

Aug 13, 2020 | 2:17 PM

The Town of Penhold is pleased to announce plans for Fall Festival 2020 to be held September 11 and 12 at the Penhold Regional Multiplex.

Mayor Mike Yargeau states, “Fall Festival is an annual celebration for our community. Even though we cannot gather together the way we usually would, we did not want to cancel Fall Festival.”

Fall Festival 2020 will be smaller than usual this year, there will not be a midway, Craft Beer Wine & Spirits Festival, pancake breakfast, or parade but Town staff have worked hard to arrange for COVID-19 compliant community activities.

There will be a Grab & Go Food Truck Festival both days starting at 5:00 p.m. in the north portion of the Penhold Regional Multiplex parking lot as well as a drive-in movie both nights.

Friday September 11 will be a family drive in movie, and Saturday September 12 will be a date night movie.

There is currently a poll on the Town of Penhold Facebook page to help select the family movie and the date night movie will be announced soon. In addition to this, Snow Circus will be performing a street style show for people to enjoy while they wait for their food from the food trucks on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

“We are still working on finalizing more plans that will be fun for the community and COVID-19 compliant,” says Yargeau. “The highlight of Fall Festival, the fireworks, will happen at sunset on Saturday, the same as other years. The view from the Penhold RV Park is amazing, it is a tradition my family enjoys each year.”

Penhold RV Park rate is reduced to $20 per night the weekend of Fall Festival and sites can be booked using www.campreservations.ca.
