AHS reinstating parking fees

Alberta Health Services says it is reinstating parking fees as part of the province’s “return to normal business” from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parking fees will be reinstated for employees on August 31 and for the public on September 1.

In a release, AHS says parking fees help them control traffic flow and ensure appropriate parking spaces are available for staff and visitors.

“As part of routine Infection Prevention and Control measures, AHS Parking Services has already enhanced cleaning, and will continue to regularly clean all parking payment machines,” AHS says. “Signs encouraging social distancing will be in place in areas where this additional guidance will help further reduce the spread of COVID-19.”

Parking rates charged for public lots will not change as part of this reinstatement. Public parking fees will be as they were prior to the pause.
