An underground cable fault has been identified as the cause of a power outage in north Red Deer Wednesday afternoon.
Andreas Zabel, Utility Specialist with the City of Red Deer’s Electric, Light & Power (EL&P) department says the outage began around 1:00 p.m. and affected both residential and commercial properties stretching from 68 Street to 80 Street, and between Gaetz Avenue and Kendrew Drive in the Kentwood neighbourhood.
Zabel says residential customers were without power for about an hour, while all power was fully restored by 3:30 p.m.
