Lloydminster couple wins $170,000 in LOTTO 6/49
Larry and Gloria Lewis are basking in a $170,000 windfall after matching five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number on the April 11 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
The couple found out about their win a few days after the draw at Westend Esso at 5909 44th Street in Lloydminster – the same store where they’d picked up their ticket in the afternoon of April 11.
“The cashier said ‘I think you won $170,000 sir,’ and I just stood there trembling,” laughed Larry. After finding out about the win, he and Gloria opted to hold off on claiming their prize until they could do so in person – all lottery prize offices were closed to the public earlier this year to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 for both winners and office staff.
They say they’ve got some pretty straightforward plans for their winnings.
