Youth charged in weekend shooting in Warburg

Thorsby RCMP have now charged a 17-year-old male following a shooting last weekend at a home in Warburg.

The shooting happened late Sunday night with a male suffering non-life threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named, is facing six criminal charges including aggravated assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and pointing a firearm (two counts).

Following a judicial interim release hearing, the male has been released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Youth Court on August 26 in Breton.

The RCMP are not looking for any other suspects and say they will have no further updates.
