Homeless male taken to hospital following bush fire on north hill

RCMP say there is no evidence to suggest arson following a late afternoon bush fire in Red Deer on Tuesday.

Cpl. Mike Evans says police and fire crews were called to a green space at the bottom of the north hill shortly before 4:00 p.m., where smoke was seen coming from some bushes.

Evans says fire crews extinguished the fire quickly, but while doing so, discovered a male living in the bushes.

The male was found to be in medical distress and was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Evans says the male did not appear to have anything to do with the fire.
