Central zone with fewer active COVID-19 cases, additional death

Alberta is reporting 94 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, including two new deaths.

This brings the total number of novel coronavirus cases in the province so far to 11,240, with 1,146 currently active – down 45 from Tuesday.

Alberta Health reports that 9,891 people have now recovered from the virus.

The death toll now stands at 203.

There are 75 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 20 in intensive care.

The Central Zone is reporting 193 active cases of coronavirus Wednesday, down from 211 on Tuesday, but one new death as well, bringing that total to four.

In Red Deer, there are still 10 active cases, while the number of recoveries in the city is listed at 49.

There are now seven active cases in Stettler County (decrease of five), four in Red Deer County (decrease of one), two in Sylvan Lake (no change), seven in Lacombe County, two in the city of Lacombe, currently no active cases in Ponoka County, zero in Rocky Mountain House (decrease of two), zero in Sundre, one in Mountain View County, six in Kneehill County (decrease of one), and five in the County of Paintearth.
