Alberta to share update on return to school plan

Alberta’s chief medical officer of health and education minister are set to “provide an update on public health measures being taken for a safe return to school,” the province said in a media release on Monday.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw and Adriana LaGrange will give the update during a news conference scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday (Aug.4).

The province announced on July 21 that Alberta students will be back in classrooms to start the next school year under “near normal conditions” with additional health and cleaning measures in place to help prevent spread of COVID-19.

LaGrange said Alberta Health provided “thorough guidance for the re-entry plan” and that a re-entry tool kit had been established.
