Alberta sees slight drop in active COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

There has been a slight drop in the number of active COVID-19 cases in Alberta.

The province is reporting 1,397 active cases as of Tuesday, a decrease of 33.

The number of recoveries in the province has risen by 112 to 8,886.

Overall, Alberta has confirmed another 80 cases of COVID-19 to bring the total to 10,470.

The number of hospitalizations remains 88, unchanged from Monday, while 16 people are in intensive care, a decrease of one.

Alberta is reporting an additional death from the virus bringing that total to 187.

The province completed 7,900 COVID-19 tests on Monday.

Red Deer now has 10 active COVID-19 cases, which is two more than Monday. The number of recoveries in the city remains listed at 44.

The COVID-19 outbreaks declared at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and Waskasoo Kiwanis Towers remain in effect as of Tuesday.

In the Central Zone as a whole there are 156 active cases, six less than Monday, and 172 recoveries. There are 21 hospitalizations in the zone, including four in intensive care.

There are currently 27 active cases in Stettler County, eight in Red Deer County (increase of two), seven in Sylvan Lake (increase of two), eight in Lacombe County, one in the city of Lacombe, three in Ponoka County, two in Rocky Mountain House, one in Sundre, 11 in Kneehill County and 12 in Starland County (decrease of three).
