Jul 23, 2020 | 2:51 PM

The Town of Blackfalds has announced that the newly expanded arena and library will be named the “Eagle Builders Centre.”

“It is an honour to team up with a leading company and major contributor such as Eagle Builders who is also a partner in the construction of the new arena,” said Mayor Richard Poole.

Eagle Builders is locally based in Blackfalds/Lacombe County and is an innovator in the engineering, fabrication, and building of precast concrete structures. They have been a long-standing member of the community that employs over 275 area residents.

The new 1,300 seat arena will include a second ice surface, a 12,000 sq. ft. library, multi-purpose rooms, and the future home of the Blackfalds Bulldogs Junior ‘A’ hockey club.

“As a local company who has been operating here for almost 20 years, we are honored to have this opportunity to support an outstanding community project. We are very blessed to employ over 275 amazing people who will not only use this facility but also learn, grown and share lasting memories with their family and friends,” said Craig Haan, Director of Eagle Builders. “My partners Kevin Kooiker, Dennis Haan, and I are extremely proud of every team member in our company and we’re humbled to contribute to a community staple which will be used by many for years to come.”
