Active COVID-19 cases in Alberta down by 10

There’s been a slight drop in the number of active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

The province is reporting 532 active cases as of Tuesday, a decrease of 10 from Monday’s report.

Overall, there are 45 new cases reported out of about 6,500 tests done over the past 24 hours.

The number of active cases in the Central Zone remains three, including one in Red Deer.

No new deaths from the virus are being reported, leaving Alberta’s fatality count from COVID-19 at 153.

7,096 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Alberta. That’s up 55 from Monday.

“We’ve come a long way in keeping our case numbers and hospitalization rates low,” said Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health. “Let’s all continue to protect one another by acting responsibly and doing our best to follow the guidance every single day. We are each other’s best protection against COVID-19, now and in the days ahead.”
