School’s out for summer!

Thousands of central Alberta students and their families waved goodbye to their teachers from a vehicle today as the 2019-2020 school year came to a close.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges of online learning, this year’s school year wrapped up four days earlier than originally planned, for all local school districts.

Joyful reunions took place however, as students and their families took time to say ‘Thank You’ to teachers and all staff they’ve built relationships with over the years, albeit while keeping their distance.

A final decision on what the upcoming school year will look like is expected from the province by Aug.1.
