Pool in Lacombe to reopen July 15

Jun 18, 2020 | 4:37 PM

The Kinsmen Aquatic Centre in Lacombe will reopen with restrictions on July 15.

Physical distancing and disinfection protocols will be in place, the City of Lacombe says in a release.

Those with COVID-19 symptoms, recent international travel, or recent close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 should not enter the facility

Initial programs will include water fitness and low-impact water fitness classes, lane swimming, public swimming, private rentals, and group lessons. There will also be advanced courses and recertification courses.

Group swimming lessons will resume July 20. Registration opens on June 29 for those with credits on their accounts, and on July 2 for the rest of the public. Registration is at www.cityoflacombe.perfectmind.com.

“Occupancy limits will be in place for the pool, deck, viewing, and change rooms, along with one-way traffic measures for the lobby, pool deck, and change rooms. There will be minimal use of the change rooms; guests are required to come dressed for their activities and arrive no more than five minutes before their scheduled times,” the release states.

“The climbing wall, Tarzan rope, pool toys, and inflatables will not be available; patrons may bring their own pool toys, provided they are clean and can be disinfected. The hot tub will remain closed until Stage 3 of the Provincial relaunch plan.”

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the City says all of these plans are subject to change. More information is at www.lacombe.ca/pool.
