Local dance studio pounds the pavement in support of food bank

It’s not the way they envisioned their big event taking place, but a local dance studio made the best of things while also supporting a great cause.

Monday was supposed to be the day JD’s Fabulous Feet held its final dance performance of the year at RDC until COVID-19 put a halt on those plans.

Instead, they took to the parking lot at Crossroads Church, who donated the space. With Parkland Audio donating speakers to crank out the tunes, 29 dancers put their skills on display while many of their parents watched on from their vehicles.

Studio owner Fiona Duley says dancers worked hard to stay ready.

“We had done online classes through Zoom and Google Classrooms for the months of April and May, so we had quite a few dancers continue dancing.”

Monday night’s finale also helped raise over $300 for the Red Deer Food Bank.
