Officials with Clearview Public Schools are very pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Myranda Shepherd as the new principal of William E Hay Secondary School Campus beginning in 2020-21.

Myranda Shepherd is currently the principal of Bashaw School. Officials say Shepherd returns to Clearview after a seven-year absence during which she served as a provincial consultant with Alberta Education for the implementation of high school redesign and as principal of Bashaw School.

Shepherd was previously a teacher at William E Hay, as well as vice principal.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Myranda back to Clearview,” says Peter Barron, Superintendent, in a news release. “Her experiences and talents have well prepared her for this role. I am very confident that she will be very successful.”

Professionally, Shepherd is said to be a strong advocate for and supporter of rural education.

“She believes that at the very core of empowered learning communities are relationships built on a solid foundation of trust,” adds Barron. “These relationships occur at all levels of an educational system – between jurisdictions and administrators, administrators and teachers, teachers and students and the school community with the parent community.”

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve Clearview Public Schools as the Principal of Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus,” says Shepherd. “Throughout my journey, Clearview has always been the place where I belong; Clearview fostered my foundations and allowed me to spread my wings.”

“I look forward to re-connecting with colleagues, families and students and ensuring that everyone is supported as we open the doors to learning in the fall,” she continues. “Because in Clearview, “We All Belong, We all Succeed.”
