Red Deer County offering outdoor recreation classes

Jun 12, 2020 | 2:09 PM

Red Deer County is pleased to announce the resumption of recreation programming, beginning with outdoor yoga and qigong.

County officials say all programming will follow Alberta Health Services guidelines on physical distancing.

Pre-registration is available through Eventbrite, and no drop-in participants will be permitted.

Interested members of the public are encouraged to sign up quickly, as classes are limited to a maximum of 10 participants.

No public washrooms will be available during the one hour classes.

According to Community Services Coordinator Lindsay Thompson, “These programs aim to provide communities with the opportunity to safely participate in outdoor yoga and fitness programs with appropriate safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The programs will benefit the physical, mental and social health or participants, while maintaining a safe environment for everyone involved.”
