Magnitude 4.0 earthquake hits Northern Alberta

HIGH PRAIRIE, AB – Earthquakes Canada is reporting that a magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck 31 kilometers southeast of High Prairie at 8:58 p.m. on Monday night.

Earthquakes Canada says there are no current reports of any damage, and there are none to be expected.

There are also no reports at this time if anyone had felt the earthquake as it happened.

This isn’t the first time an earthquake has struck in this area. Back in December 2019, there were three recorded earthquakes between December 25 – December 30.
