Rocky Mountain House RCMP have laid charges against four males after investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred on June 4 at the Sunchild First Nation.

It was just before 1 a.m. when police responded to a 911 call that males entered a residence, pointed firearms at the occupants and stole several items from the house. No one was injured.

RCMP say the suspects were identified by witnesses before they left in two vehicles prior to police arriving at the scene.

Mounties located the vehicles and attempted to stop them

Patrols were made by the RCMP and the suspect vehicles were located. A traffic stop was attempted and both vehicles fled. A pursuit was initiated with the second vehicle and a tire deflation device successfully deployed. The vehicle came to a stop north of Highway 11 on the Forestry Truck Road and the three male occupants all exited. One male was arrested at the vehicle, and two males fled on foot. Police Dog Services was deployed and following a short track, a second male was located in dense bush. The third male, identified by the RCMP, was not tracked. Ammunition was seized from the vehicle.

Later in the day on June 4, the third male was located during a traffic stop and arrested without incident. While RCMP continued to patrol the area, three more males were located and all arrested for the robbery, without incident. Two of them were released without charges.

Rydice Poorman, 18, is charged with 13 offences including robbery with firearm, uttering threats, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaches.

Colin Byron Beaverbones, 25, is facing 15 criminal charges including using a prohibited firearm in the commission of a robbery.
