Sylvan Lake opens waterfront parking lots, visitor pay program

Jun 5, 2020 | 3:33 PM

Public waterfront parking lots are now open and the Visitor Pay Parking Program is back in effect in Sylvan Lake.

The program typically starts May 15 but was paused this year for the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’ll be in effect through September 15, between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily. (see map)

“Public parking lots, and identified street parking within the waterfront require payment,” the Town of Sylvan Lake says in a release. “Parking for residents remains free; however, residents must register their vehicles, if they haven’t already done so in previous years.”

Town officials note that street parking along streets within “resident parking only” zones is designated for residents with registered vehicles only.

On-street pay parking is restricted to three hours for both residents and visitors.

Visitor pay-parking rates are $2 per hour, $10 per day and $126.50 for an annual pass.

Persons with disabilities, with visible Disabilities Placards, may park in designated disability parking spaces for free.

Free parking within walking distance to the waterfront is still available east of 50 Street, along 50 Avenue, and along 49 Avenue between 46 Street and 50 Street.
