Alberta confirms 13 new COVID-19 cases

Alberta is reporting one of the lowest single-day increases in COVID-19 cases since the pandemic was declared.

Just 13 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported Tuesday out of 3,227 tests completed in the last 24 hours, bringing Alberta’s total number of cases to 7,057.

There are 377 active cases of COVID-19 cases in the province and the number of recoveries has risen to 6,537.

There are 51 Albertans in hospital because of COVID-19, including six in intensive care.

No new deaths were reported Tuesday as the number of COVID-19 fatalities in Alberta remains 143.

On Monday, the Central zone became the first in the province to have no active cases and that remains the case on Tuesday. There are also no current hospitalizations in the Central zone, which has seen 98 COVID-19 cases overall.
