Driver charged in Smoky Lake school bus crash

SMOKY LAKE- The driver of a school bus involved in a collision with a crane last December has been charged with careless driving.

The crash happened near Smoky Lake on Highway 28.

One youth suffered serious life-threatening injuries and another youth had serious non-life threatening injuries.

There were 14 students on the bus at the time.

The 66-year-old bus driver is to appear in Fort Saskatchewan court on August 6.
